Mineral Make Up for Teens: Bring Out Her Natural Beaty

By Marilyn Etzel

Who doesn't remember sneaking into their mother's makeup? She laughed at the clown face we put on, all dressed up in her clothing and high heels. For your own teenage daughter, help her to choose makeup that looks natural and helps her avoid skin problems.

Acne usually shows up during the teens. Pimples can hurt and scar the face. For girls, acne can be a source of taunts and low self esteem.

Covering up acne with makeup seems like a good idea, but in the long run, it will have a poor outcome. Chemicals in the makeup can bring on new skin problems. That's not what we want for our daughters at all.

When the time comes for makeup, make an informed decision. Consider mineral makeup as a way to keep her skin healthy and bring out her natural beauty. Go with her when she tries mineral makeup for the first time.

Benefits for Your Daughter

Teenage skin goes through many phases. When puberty hits, the hormones can do a number on her body and her face. Some teens may be more prone to acne and skin irritation than others. If your daughter falls into this category, she will want to find a way to minimize the look of acne on her face.

Everyone wants to enhance their look. Some teens think that makeup will make them look better but when you have skin irritations, traditional makeup can make them feel and look worse. And, we don't always match the color correctly and then the makeup appears artificial.

Mineral makeup has another purpose. It seeks to enhance what is naturally there. If there are skin imperfections, the minerals are designed to reduce their appearance. As a result, the makeup looks like you are wearing no makeup at all. Your daughter will like that.

Part of the reason for the seamless look is the brush strokes. A minimal amount of mineral powder is applied to the face using a Kabuki brush. It doesn't take long since the powder color matches the natural tone of the face. Your daughter will love how it looks and feels. You will love how little time she has to spend in the bathroom "putting on her face."

With mineral makeup, your daughter will:

- Look more like the natural beauty she is.

- Have less chance of encountering skin problems due to makeup use

- Let her natural beauty show for everyone to see

With all those benefits, who could resist? - 15359
