If you do a Google search on all flooring types available today, you will literally find thousands of options. That's because the choices on floor types are growing every single day. So if you think all these is too much, here are some of the popular options to get you started in the right direction.

Carpeting comes in staggering options. There are wool carpets, nylon, plush and even Berber. It's best to consult a professional if you're deciding which carpet to go with. For places that get a lot of foot traffic, you can go with wool because it can withstand a lot. Nylon is great for places which gets a lot of spills and stains like the kitchen. Price ranges are usually from $15 to $30 per yard.

Ceramic tiles give a more sophisticated and designer look. It comes in different sizes which vary according to your taste. The colors to choose from are also endless. It is less durable than most so consider using it for places which you want to look great without getting too much abuse like the living room. Prices are between $8 to $15 per square foot.

Polished concrete offers the best options. It can give you a more contemporary look. It's as durable as marble but as cheap as ceramic tiles. If you're worried it's too cold, contractors can have heating tubes installed underneath to keep it warm in the winter. It also comes in many colors.
