I was sitting in front of the Junior High School the other day, waiting for my daughter, when I noticed the most peculiar thing! Now I know it is Jr. High and peculiar is norm there, but what I noticed was their choice of footwear - Ugg Slippers. That was boys and girls, mind you.
I guess what caught my eye is that they are the sheepskin type like the boots that last year (and as my teen told me this year too) were popular! We are talking slip-ons for girls and the moccasin ones for boys.
The name is certainly recognizable, because of the popularity in the last couple of years of Ugh boots. In fact popularity is putting it mildly. Anyone who wants to be anyone (teen thinking, not mine!) has to have them. They are showing up in the true-to-form retro 80's look with leggings and long sweaters.
Now, I'd never admit this to my teens, but I love them too! They are comfy and fashionable (can't beat that!) with the warm sheepskin for winter and they can even be worn in summer because the sheepskin actually acts as moisture-wicking Double bonus!
I like the way the cuffs have exposed sheepskin and the soles are made out of suede so they are durable. This is in both the boys and girls slippers. For authenticity, they sport the UGG logo on them, too.
And you cannot neglect upgrading your shoe collection with a new stylish pair of Ugs boots. Winter is close by and these are, I believe, now a staple in every women's closet. Plus, you get a bonus, because I have seen the Olsen Twins (teenage fashion sensations) wearing them with shorts. Cute and flirty. Ugg boots are not off-limits anywhere or anytime.
Now I must go on record saying I never give into the teens age old adage "Mom I won't fit in if I don't have them". So in order to maintain my respectability as a parent, I will concede because they are sensible shoe wear. (And boy are they cute!) - 15359
