While we talk about giving presents and love this time of year, I find it annoying that I have such issues finding the perfect gifts for my friends and family. I know I'm supposed to be jolly but it's hard to be happy and enjoy the holidays when you have this pressure to find the right gift for everyone on your list.
After fighting the crowds and traffic I finally get to the mall only to discover that the outdoor gifts I am looking to give are not in stock because they are out of season. It's crazy because what I would like to give is not available.
These are the trials and tribulations of a brick and mortar store. Internet stores don't have the same restrictions on seasonal items so it's easier to find what you are looking for. It is a great advantage to find those special gifts without sp many hassles.
There seems to be a lot more to look at and to choose from on an online store. The prices are very good and the products range from the fun gazing balls to statues and wall art. You can find gifts from the teens to the hundreds of dollars.
One of the things I enjoy about shopping over the internet is that I can always go to the fall back position and shop fot those items that every gardener can use. That can be planters, hanging baskets or flower pots. There are some items that you just can't have enough of.
I also have friends who are more feelings orientated and emotional about their gardens. These guys really care about every item that goes into the garden and want a natural flow from front to back. I really have to think about their gifts to make sure they will work with what they already have.
Since these guys love getting gifts with more than thought behind them I try to find something that will evoke a story or meaning. I look at statutes and lanterns, wall friezes and bird houses. Anything that will bring an emotion whether it be laughter or tears because I know they love this type of gift.
The last thing I love about shopping this way is the fact that I don't have the pack and ship anything! I can pay online and have them ship it to wherever it goes. I know there are all these free shipping deals and if I find something with free shipping then okay. However, I would rather pay to get someone else to ship my gifts any day rather then ship them myself.
I also know that most of the free shipping prices have the cost built in so, one way or the other; you're paying the cost of shipping. I wonder about the so-called "experts" that are telling everyone what a deal free shipping is? I guess they think we consumers will just blindly follow their advice. Personally, I find a company that has a good selection that I like dealing with and shop away. Don't you? - 15359
