Easy Fast Dinner Recipes

By Peter Hallway

There was a time when television mothers spent the whole day in evening gowns, cleaning and cooking complicated meals while they told the kids to wait until dad got home for life advice. Television was a lot like reality. Modern people have a lot more going on in their lives. But now people want easy fast dinner recipes. There were no web sites for the TV moms to check. Easy cooking is easy to find online with search engines like Yahoo and Google.

One steak can go a long way. Change the sides for different meal experiences. Change the spices for a trip around the world of food. Start with one large flank steak.

Monday is flank steak with roasted potatoes and a salad on the side. Spices and some salsa make it Fajitas on Tuesday. Rice, some Teriyaki sauce and steamed vegetables make Wednesday an Asian day. Make Thursday like Monday, but change the potatoes to mashed and throw in some asparagus. Go for Gyros on Friday with pita and Greek spices. That's one meat for five meals.

What, there's even more to do with the steak? Fine, prepare your pallet. Do southwestern steak with black bean wraps, or lentil and orzo salad with flank steak smothered in feta cheese. Put another meat into the mix for more variety. Pork can be a roast, or ribs, or chops. The possibilities are endless.

With a little clever planning all the meals for the week can be cooked on the weekend, then heated and served in minutes. Make out the menu for the whole month, buy bulk foods and make sure to use coupons to add extreme savings to the mix. In fact, these menus and meals can also be a great learning experience for young people. Put them in charge for a week. Let the whole family take turns.

Easy fast dinner recipes are just that, both fast and easy. - 15359
