I made the mistake of hiring a coyboy builder to install a much needed bathroom cabinet in my ensuite above my sink. One night I was awoke with a start by a very large bang. It was only the bloody cabinet coming down onto my sink, snapping it in two! I have many sinks in my house, 5 to be precise, i had 4 en-suites, and a main bathroom. i needed new sinks and fast.
I say 'sinks' in the plural term, as if one sink is ruined, it would mean that they would not all match anymore! All my sinks in my house needed to be the same style. I am ashamed to admit that I have a small case of OCD, and therfore have a tendency to need things not only done a certain way, but also look a certain way. my sinks was one of those things. the fact that i now knew my sinks would not match was making me throw up in my mouth a little every 10 minutes
it was going to be a mamoth task of replacing the sinks. Most people could just do a bit of researching and find the exact same sink and replace it. No worries. However the sinks in my house were special. They were passed down from generations. My great great grandmother had installed them when she used to live here some time ago. they were priceless.
So you can see how torn I was. To give in to my obsessive compulsive disorder and change all the heirloom sinks, or let my grandmothers legacy live on through her sinks?
It was tearing me up inside. I couldn't eat, I couldn't play with my kids, and I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking about sinks. Over and over again.
I decided I would have to get new ones. I went to the biggest bathroom retailer in England; I had a specific design in my head for the type of sinks I wanted. But I could not find it anyway. Again my OCD took over and I could not/would not settle for anything less than what I wanted.
the search engine google saved the day in the end. My life was TRANSFORMED when I found a company who promised me they would get me the sink I wanted when I needed it. I told them the spec and they went ahead and created a special design for me using expert software. It was so immense thati wanted to kiss the young man who helped me.
the brilliant company even came around to my house and fitted the sinks for me, they did an amazing job with hardly any fuss or mess. The sinks were simply stunning and matched the old ones. After a cup of tea, the builder even put more bathroom cabinets up for me!
I don't think I will be able to face the drama of getting new sinks for my house ever again. I want to pass these sinks on to my great great grandkids!! - 15359
