Flights to Tenerife from the UK

By Craig Walker

With two airports to pick from in Tenerife, one in the south of the island and the other in the north the airport you pick to fly into will be driven by the area or resort on the island you have decided to stay in.

The majority of Tenerife flights from the United Kingdom fly to Tenerife Sur Reina Sofia Airport which is located in the south of the island. If your chosen resort is in the northern part of the island you should select Tenerife Norte airport.

If you plan to visit the popular holiday resorts of Playa de Las Americas or Los Cristianos for example you would be looking for Tenerife flights to the south of the island, In the north the most popular resort id Puerto de La Cruz

Playa de Las Americas is the most commercialized resort in the island and offers more bars, restaurants and nightlife than any other resort on the island. As a result this area tends to attract a younger visitor in comparison especially with the most popular resort in the north of the island, Puerto de La Cruz. The weather in the north of the island is not a reliable as the weather in the south and can be changeable. Puerto de La Cruz is a more popular resort with older visitors to the island who are not just looking for a tan.

The best beaches are in the south of the island which is why more families tend to holiday in the south of Tenerife. There is even a man made beach in the south built with sand imported from the Sahara. Flying times for Tenerife flights from the UK vary from around four hours to just over five hours depending on from which airport in the UK you are flying from. Obviously the further north you are flying from the longer the flight will be.

The destination you pick in Tenerife will depend on the availability of flights to your chosen part of Tenerife. There are lots more flights available from airports all over the UK and Ireland to Tenerife South airport than the airport in the north of the Island. In fact you are more likely to find more than one Tenerife flight into the south of the island than one to the north such id the difference in popularity of the south of the island.

There should be no problem for you finding a great range of accommodation whatever part of the island you pick. There are villas, self catering apartments and hotels ranging from two to five star properties all over the island. - 15359
