Travel to South Africa

By Christo Fouche

Do you want to visit South Africa? Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route is one of the most beautiful towns in the world. Unlike the rest of the Garden Route there is almost no wind to bother you while you are seeking the sun. For the entire year great sunny days makes up most of your time and approximately 300 days in the year are great weather days.

On the Garden Route Whale watching is most probably one of the greatest tourist attractions. While you stroll along the white beaches of Robberg you can see these huge mammals just a few meters away. The whales come to Plettenberg Bay every year during the summer months to raise their calves.

Ever you wished you could stand on the southern tip of Africa and stare over the ocean. Then Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route is your place. Take a hike in the Robberg Nature Reserve in Plettenberg Bay and you will find exquisite scenery to relax you from the city rush.

Accommodation during the high season is usually difficult to get because of its popularity and booking well in advance will surely be advisable. Many foreign visitors and visitors from across South Africa pour down to the Jewel of the Garden Route as it is called.

Whether you are looking for a self catering accommodation unit, a guest house or a private beach home, Plett has it all. Many locals use the high season time to flee from the crowds and let their properties to holiday makers. Most Estate Agents in Plettenberg Bay are also doing holiday rentals

Wake up to the red skies of a beautiful sunrise over the mountains and you will find yourself wanting to come back every year for more. Have your camera ready because you would like to take the memory back home with you. These scenes still captivates me every time I see it.

The indigenous forests are the best place for me. Close your eyes and you can pretend that one of the elephants that lived here before will come out from behind a bush at any time. Take a deep breath and you can smell the relaxing smell of the ferns and the fynbos which is so unique to this region - 15359
