Is Your Teen Using Alcohol or Drugs?
Sometimes it's difficult to tell if your teen is using alcohol or drugs. Parents may worry that their teens are involved with drugs or alcohol if they become withdrawn or negative, although these behaviors are common for teens going through challenging times. It is important not to accuse your teen unfairly and to try to discover why your teen's behavior has changed by telling him or her that you are concerned.Our Teen Scene is designed to provide teens with a more independent experience while giving them a taste of life on a college campus. iD's Teen Scene Camp is a special teen camp experience geared toward youths ages 13-17. With our Teen Gaming tournaments and time to socialize with friends, teens feel right at home at iD Tech Camps.

I am a teen, what can I do?
The best thing to do is to talk to a teacher or your local public or school librarian. Ask them if they have anything planned for Teen Read Week and let them know you are interested in helping out. If your teacher or librarian does not have anything planned or has never heard of Teen Read Week, show them this web site and help them get started! Also, don't forget to vote for the Teens' Top Ten and for next year's Teen Read Week theme!Substance abuse can increase risk-taking behaviors, which can have serious consequences.

What are the teen pregnancy rates in my state?
Our State Information section is an interactive way to find information about teen pregnancy, teen sexual behavior, and prevention programs state by state.Talking openly and honestly with your teen and keeping a healthy home life may prevent your teen from trying alcohol and drugs. Talk to your child early about what you expect in his or her behavior toward alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

Can a teen get kicked out?
In extreme cases and usually if they are not a match for any of our Schools or for continual endangerment to themselves or others. Or, parents not supporting the Program. Typically a teen may speak with their parents at phase three which could be anywhere from three months on. It is usually the same for seeing the parent. The Program is results based, however, three months is probably the average time for either.There is a "gap" in the medical care teenagers with cancer are receiving, because sometimes adolescents with cancer are cared for by physicians who usually treat adults with cancer. Teens usually have a better chance of survival if they were treated by specialists in childhood cancer.

What is teen substance abuse?
Even though many teens try alcohol or drugs, using these substances is neither safe nor legal. Some teens experiment with drugs or alcohol only a few times, but experimentation can become substance abuse and lead to serious problems, such as poor school performance, loss of friends, problems at home, and even lasting legal consequences.You should know what your child is taking and what type of drug it is.
