What is the difference between the show in the USA and the show in France?
In the USA, the movie is much more famous than in France and it is a cult classic. There are many live casts throughout the country. However, these casts just rigorously mimic what's happening on screen with screen accurate costumes and props. And the audience members do the call backs. In France, most of our audience members do not do the call backs. The Sweet Transvestites have decided, from day one, to have screen accurate costumes and props and to move in synch with the movie.Our goal is to keep you coming back for exciting new Harry Potter products. So what was real?
Pretty much everything else. The set designs, costumes and the ship itself were painstakingly re-created from numerous written and photographic sources. Captain Smith, Thomas Andrews, Molly Brown, Bruce Ismay, Col. Gracie and others were all real people. The sequence of events from sailing day to rescue is quite accurate. A few scenes are controversial. First Officer Murdoch's suicide by pistol never been confirmed. However there are few flaws in this vision of the Titanic sinking.What was interesting about Cher in this movie is that she was to play a diva named Cher.
How do the stage show and film differ?
In the musical, the story occurs in 1881, the movie in 1870 (a historical fallacy, because that means France would've been in the middle of a war.) In the movie the ages are all shifted closer to the book. On stage Christine and Raoul are in their 20's, Phantom in his late 40's-50's. In "Think of Me", the backdrop falls, but it doesn't actually hit Carlotta, it just frightens her. Almost all of the costumes are different.

When I saw the movie, I thought it was horrible, and I do not recommend it. Still, there are plenty of collectors that want to see the movie, and it is somewhat of a cult classic.
