How Much Time Should I Diet

By Ricardo d Argence

I'd like to drop some weight, but how long must I be on a diet? Whether it is for weight loss or health reasons, the same questions arise. What diet should I go, or which are the right foods to eat and the ones to avoid. I'll explain to you how long you need to stay on a diet to get the best results.

Does anyone know the real answer? The answer is to do it however long it takes to lose weight. While that may be the easy response, the fact is it's false. Most people plan on dieting on a short term basis and then revert back to their old eating habits. The hard work will just be useless if they go back to their old eating habits..this is the only problem.

The true answer is: make a healthy diet a new habit, where you do it for life. You, see a diet shouldn't be a temporary fix. It should be a lifestyle change.

This common mistake is generally the reason why post dieters end up gaining more weight than they just lost.

The truth of the matter is that for a dieter to maintain their new slimmer shape, they need to stay on a comprable diet regimine permanently; it will be a bit more flexible, however they cannot exceed their daily caloric comsuption. Enjoy all the cookies you want! Don't worry about dipping into that cookie jar.

The post dieter's daily diet must contain the amount of energy necessary to support the leaner shape. If calories are in excess, that excess gets stored within the fat cells which in turn adds pounds to the weight scales.

Poor eating habits made you gain weight to begin with. Be sure not to ruin the progress you've made by repeating the same things you used to do.

Remember that weight maintenance isn't easy and demands smart monitoring and commitment just like weight loss.
